At the Mumbai International Film Festival, held between October 17 to 24, 2013 Sabiha Sumar’s Good Morning Karachi was screened first on Sunday 20th followed by Q&A with the director and executive producer Anjali Punjabi and the second screening of the film is today, Monday 21 at Cinemax Screen 2, Versova at 3.15 pm
Sabiha Sumar studied filmmaking and Political Science at New York’s Sarah Lawrence College and History and Political Thought at Cambridge University. Her debut documentary, Who Will Cast the First Stone earned high critical acclaim, winning the San Francisco International Film Festival’s Golden Gate Award. Her first feature, Khamosh Pani (Silent Waters) won Locarno International Film Festival’s Golden Leopard for Best Film and Bronze Leopard for Best Actress besides 17 International awards thereafter. Dinner with the President: a Nation's Journey won the Best Documentary Award at Anasy Awards Ceremony, Abu Dhabi. Sumar has also produced the 2012 Academy Award winning short documentary Saving Face.Good Morning Karachi is Sabiha's second feature film Good Morning Karachi (Pakistan/2013/Urdu, English/DCP/85 mins) is Sabiha Sumar’s second feature about a young woman, Rafina, a runway and billboard model. As she climbs the social ladder, she is caught between two men with diverse visions of Pakistan and the role of women. Rafina’s story is about Karachi reconciling between tradition and modernity reflected in not characters, landscapes, politics and fashion.
Scripted by Malia Scotch Marmo,Sabiha Sumar and Samhita Arni. The lead cast comprises Amna Ilyas, Beo Raana Zafar and Yasir Aqueel. Good Morning Karachi is slated for theatrical release in Europe in November 2013.

Currently Sabiha is developing the script for her next feature film Azmaish which was invited to participate in Film Bazaar, Goa of the National Film Development Corporation, India.
