Popular
director Takashi Miike and Japan will be one of the Contemporary Masters
showcased at 2013 International Film Festival of Kerala scheduled to be held
from Dec 6- 13 at Thiruvananthapuram . The 18th IFFK
showcases 5 films of this popular but controversial Japanese filmmaker. He
achieved notoriety in the festival circuit after taking audiences on
kinetically unhinged and frequently disturbing joyrides in films like Audition (2000) Ichi the Killer (2001). Following his directorial debut in 1991,
Miike has become one of the most prolific filmmakers in the World today. His
films are popular in Japan where he has achieved cult status. Films of Mike to be featured at at the
festival are Audition, 13 Assassins, Crows, Hara kiri- Death of a
Samurai and his last film Shield of
Straw.
