Cutting Chai with Bhawana Somaaya - Day 328

Romance with Agenda
18.04.14

Karan Johar – SajidNadiadwala produced aur Abhishek Varman directed 2 States 1 couple, 2 pariwar aur teen pranto ki kahani hain.
Film shuru hoti hain Ahmedabad ke IIM campus mein jahan Tamilian Ananya Swaminathan ki mulakat Punjabi Krish Malhotra se college ke Mess mein hoti hain.
Dono pehle dost, phir premee aur baad mein apne job placement ki taiyaari ke saath saath, ek doosre se shaadi ke plans banana shuru karte hain.
Author Chetan Bhagat ki iissi naam ki kitab par adharit Abhishek Varman ki sajayi 2 States ko hum Chennai ke Shiv-Radha Swaminathan aur Delhi ke Kavita-Vikram Malhotra ki shadiyon ke side effects bhi keh sakte hain.
Film ka plus, film ka ambience, film ki detailing aur romance ka refreshing perspective. Iske saath saath Binod Pradhan ki cinematography aur Hussain Dalal ke natural dialogues.
Film ka minus, uska bookish narrative, flashback-forward structure aur fluctuating pace – khaas taurpe jab characters Chennai pohachte hain.
Krish ki bhumika mein thoda confused thoda rootha Arjun Kapoor thoda repetive ho jaata hain.
Tamilian Ananya ki bhumika mein Aliya Bhatt jab screen pe aati hain toh bahaar jaati hain.
Aur inn ke saath, ek bohat hi complex role mein Ronit Roy, haule se, dabbe paun aap ke dil mein ghar banate hain.
2 States ko manoranja dwara kuch vyavhaik, kuch pariwarik, kuch samajik aur cultural muddein uthane ke liye Big Entertainment Ratings milte hain 3 stars.
