Bimal Roy passed away
many decades ago and his children celebrate their father’s important dates in
their own special ways. While daughter Rinki Bhattacharya who has the rights to
his films holds a film festival of Bimal Roy Films every year, her younger
brother, Joy Roy holds cultural events in memory of his baba.
A few weeks ago Joy hosted an event to mark the 50th
death anniversary followed by a music recital.In the coming week Rinki
Bhattacharya is hosting screenings of Roy films at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,
Chowpatty.
