Gone are the days when
artistes sat at home when they were not shooting. Not any longer. Today, actors
use their time productively. Ameesha Patel who is not seen on the big screen
for some time is learning Latin and Ballroom dancing from choreographer Sandip
Soparrkar.
Sandip has choreographed
7 Khoon Maaf, Mangal Pandey and Kites among others, and has popularised
Bollywood dance on international platforms. He has also choreographed icons
like Britney Spears and Madonna and bollywood stars like Hrithik Roshan,
Priyanka Chopra, Kajol, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. His present student is Ameesha
Patel.
Few people know this
that Ameesha is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and is now learning Salsa, Jive,
Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba, Tango and Waltz. Ameesha says Sandip is an expert in latino
styles of dancing and more important super fun to dance with. Sandip Soparrkar
says Ameesha pays attention to techniques and he is confident the audience will
get to watch her son nin a dance based film.
