Cutting Chai with Bhawana Somaaya - Day 448

Navratri Mahotsav Day 4

Chauth is dedicated to Devi Kushmanda, which literally means a little warmth in the cosmic egg.  It is believed that she is the creator of the universe which was an empty space of darkness, until she transformed nature with her powerful light. Devi Kushmanda rides a lion and holds different weapons including rosary and flower in her eight hands. The fourth day devi puja is called Durga Saran and the colour of the Goddess for today is White.
